Up here it’s all about being together. And it’s about really doing nothing- says Line Juhl Hansen of her family’s holiday life in their small and simple summer house in Djursland, Denmark.

When the couple took over the house, they started by removing everything from the inside.

The place was stuffed with things and was quite dark, whereas we just wanted a bright and simple house

For us the most important thing is to create a home where we can have a great time by ourselves or with our guests. Material things are not something we need up here. It has to be practical

My style is simple and functional and based on few basics. We have Ikea, secondhand and self built furniture alongside bookshelves in untreated wood.
