Cookie dough makes an amazing gift because your loved one can use it as they want with ice-cream, bake it or leave it in the freezer and cut off biscuits to bake as they please. We made every endeavour to create the best recipe ever for you and made it eggless so that it keeps for ages and would make the perfect hamper filling. Plus it takes no culinary prowess - just some creativity for wrapping.

Cost: €5
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of plain flour
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ¾ cup of melted butter (use real butter not margarine)
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- ½ cup of white sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- ½ cup of chocolate chips
For wrapping:
- Grease proof paper
- String
- Cellophane wrap
- Melt butter in the microwave for 30- 40 seconds.
- In a mixing bowl pour in butter, add sugars, sieve in flour and add milk and vanilla essence with salt.
- Mix all ingredients together with a wooden spoon.
- Finally add in your chocolate chips or you could substitute with mini marshmallows, nuts, dried fruit, honeycomb or malt clusters. Then leave the dough to cool.
- To wrap: Compact your dough into a log shape and wrap with grease proof paper wrapping cord around it at three intervals and adding a cute luggage tag to the end. Now if you want your loved one to see what they are getting then take a squared piece of cellophane wrap and spoon on some dough and gather together the wrap at the top and tie off with a ribbon. We used the ‘Made By Me’ ribbon from Hickeys.
