Ten different ways to use wallpaper...

There are soo many different and creative ways to incorporate wallpaper into your home decorating aside from simply covering a wall.  Here's a few quirky unique ideas that we love..

If you're afraid the paper you love will be too overbearing on an entire wall, why not just paper a section of the wall and frame it with stained or painted moulding or dado rail for a really cool alternative to an 'accent' wall?

How unusual is this wallpaper headboard? Using the outline of the pattern of your wallpaper you can create your own unique headboard using your favourite wallpaper simply pasted on the wall behind your bed.

Having trouble deciding on one wallpaper because there's just so many that you love? Why not use them all? For a really funky look, paint your wall a dramatic bold colour, frame some wallpaper samples and arrange them side by side on the wall like this for some truly unique wall art. This will work equally well on any colour wall as long as you pick wallpaper samples that complement your wall colour.

Check out these cool crafty wallpaper projects from the craft queen herself Martha Stewart... spruce up your hallway by papering your umbrella stand and waste bin and then layering it with a coat of polyurethane (which you can pick up at www.homebase.ie) to protect the surface. For some really unique light switches like these you can purchase clear plastic switch covers, cut out a piece of wallpaper and simply insert it into the cover.

Jazz up your wardrobe by inserting wallpaper onto the back wall and door panels of your wardrobe.. so pretty :)

Some pretty vintage wallpaper has been added to the back of this shabby chic linen cabinet for a really quaint look.

Transform the look of your glass topped coffee table (or any table) by cutting out some wallpaper and laying it underneath the sheet of toughened glass. This reception desk that I designed for a hotel lobby a few years ago was made using a Designers Guild wallpaper pasted to a timber frame and faced with toughened glass.

Show your loved ones how much you care by presenting them with some beautifully wrapped gifts like these using some left over wallpaper for a charming alternative to traditional wrapping paper. Finish with some pretty ribbons or some raffia for a very special gift.
