We wanted to keep the character of the old house in a way that could still incorporate our own styles - says Brenda

The two large couches in Brenda’s sitting room are by Flexform and the rug was bought at Nordic Living, the Scandanavian interiors shop in Blackrock, Dublin.

Working with material has made its decorative mark on Brenda’s home. Her own designs include the cushion and chair-covers as well as her rugs.

It’s difficult, dismantling the materials, cutting them, overlapping them, sewing them, sewing the strips together and backing them, but it’s very rewarding

The kitchen was designed by the Murrays themselves and was produced by InHouse in Dublin.

Engineered oak flooring, by Sean O’Rourke from Donegal, is laid throughout the house - with the exception of the master bedroom, which has lighter ash flooring.
