Buying tips for blinds

  • The blind position. Generally roller and roman blinds are fitted to sit inside the window but can also be fitted outside if the window frame is narrow.
  • Fabric finish. When fitting blinds in a kitchen or bathroom consider a waterproof and stain resistant finish. Metal blinds or Teflon coated fabrics are ideal for use in a bathroom or kitchen. Blackout fabrics are perfect for the bedroom as they completely block out sunlight.
  • Use a metal tape measure if you are ordering blinds online as fabric measuring tapes can stretch and give false measurements.
  • If you are ordering bespoke blinds consider adding an unusual border or trim.
  • If you have small children try and avoid styles with long pull-cords. Blind cord should always be kept out of reach for children’s safety.
