Yes, we know, we’re always going on about paint – but such an inexpensive, versatile medium is the perfect solution to a cash-strapped home in need of a new look.
This little job is a great Saturday project that will brighten up your bedroom and having you leaping out of bed as mornings get brighter and the sunny season (hopefully!) kicks in. Pick a day when you can sleep in the spare room or escape afterwards to stay in a friend’s house or treat yourself to a night in a nice hotel or spa.
Go for a simple, bright fresh palette, and balance out a strong colour with soothing neutrals. If you don’t have a headboard, then simply paint the outline of a headboard to your wall and stencil on a pretty detail. Extend the theme to your bedroom furniture by jazzing up a tired bedroom locker in the same shades. It’s only when your hard work is done that you’ll see how much your space was in need of a design wake-up call!
