Four ways to bring a bit of your garden indoors

Enjoy that outdoor feeling by creating a little bit of garden indoors with these living sculptures. Otherworldly, pretty and practical, they perfectly complement a modern aesthetic. (Photos: The Flower Council of Holland)

Branching out

Calla lilies intertwined with Zamioculcas stems placed inside a sculptural, branch-like vase creates an eye-catching centrepiece. You could substitute Ruscus leaves if Zamioculcas aren’t available but it won’t give such a full look.

These Callas are ‘Green Goddess’ variety and have a leaning trumpet which gives this arrangement added drama

Tall order

These simple, unobtrusive vases accentuate the strange nature and beguiling appeal of these Allium. The tall, sliim white vase is filled with a tied bunch of round headed Allium – Purple Sensation – and the squat, fat vase is filled with five stems of spiky Allium.

These flowers are so striking and so different; it’s hard to believe they are the same species

Bags of style

Create your own window box display indoors with a black cloth ‘bucket’ bag filled with stems of white Calla lilies, spiky Allium stems or stems of Zamioculcas or Ruscus inside single stem glasses. The whole set of single stem glasses together in the bag make one large arrangement that looks as if it’s growing. For added impact you could display the bag on a patch of plastic grass.

Funky and long lasting, this centrepiece is a lot easier to arrange than a bunch of flowers

Double impact

Five stems of spray Chrysanth with variegated grass and Zamioculcas leaves secrued with white cord inside two glass vases is a natural counterpoint to this room’s clean, white lines.

Using a mix of green shades will create that outdoor feeling and a sense of calm
