If you’re looking to flex a little creative muscle in the direction of your home, why not take a shabby unloved old piece of furniture and give it a little TLC? We’ve taken our paintbrushes and staple guns and a bunch of second hand stuff, to prove that DIY can not only be as easy as pie... the results are very much worth the effort.

What we used:

  • Second hand vanity table, €65, Oxfam Home
  • Sanding tool, varnished and gloss paint on drawers, all from Woodies DIY
  • Bevelled mirror tiles cut to order from Capital Glass
  • Drawer handles from a selection at Knobs and Knockers
  • Pleated lamp shade bought from charity shop
  • Apple ice bucket, €45, green ceramic vase, €25 and clock, €45, all vintage from Wild Child Originals
  • ‘Blue Bandana’ print, €75 and vintage cushions, from €15 each, all from Kirk Modern
  • Horse lamp base, wine box and twine, stylists own.

We've already featured the magnificent Michelle Fallon and her deck chair makeover - can you give us any other great examples of easy-peasy DIY?

I love the blue drawers on that little dressing table and the mis-matched door knobs are a great idea.

It's a beauty! I don't suppose this dresser is for sale? Genuinely interested! Let me know pleaseeeeeee
