Video: Removing stainless steel scratches

By Jimmy Loughran 11-10-2010

I was browsing the How-To Youtube category today when I realized just how many make-up tutorials are on there! Thankfully I managed to get my interiors fix, stumbling across a channel from eHow (a popular tutorial sharing website) called eHowHome, dedicated specifically to home projects.

The quick and easy tutorial below isn't really makey-do - it's more about maintenance, which is pretty important to us house proud folk. In the video, Rachel from eHow shows us how she uses her toothbrush (a spare one, presumably), some whitening toothpaste and metal polish to remove those pesky scuffs and scratches from her stainless steel toaster.

It's a pretty simple and cheap solution for scratches - perhaps some of you have come across it before? I remember hearing about a similar technique for removing scuffs from the backs of iPods... Have you ever tried this technique for removing scratches - and if so, did it work out or were there any negative side effects? Tell us in a comment!
