A House and Home promotion

Hugely versatile with the ability to change the vibe in any room, tiles aren't solely confined to the bathroom or kitchen. From natural stone slabs to the pretty and patterned, you can’t go wrong with the hard-wearing, practical and easy to clean appeal they add to the home. So, if you're looking to redecorate without paint or wallpaper, decorating with tiles could be the answer. We've gathered six great tile stores in Dublin that'll take you from concept to transformation in no time.

1. TileStyle

About the store: Tilestyle is the Irish owned company that's also home to the very first flagship store of Spanish brand, PORCELANOSA, in the country. Clean freaks will feel right at home as they peruse their immaculate 52,000 sq ft showroom in Ballymount.

What's new? Some exciting new additions to the showroom include wood wall cladding and exquisite Volcanic Limestone™ baths by Victoria & Albert. The store is also home to the biggest tiles in the world.

Tilestyle says: "Moroccan inspired decorative tiles have made a huge comeback over the last few years. Wood effect tiles are undoubtedly one of the biggest bathroom tile trends for 2016 and customers are using them not just for floors, but also for walls. Dark bathrooms are also proving quite popular, lately, as the contrast of white sanitary ware against dark tiles works really well."

About the store: Tubs & Tiles, as part of the Heat Merchants group (who specialise in heating and plumbing), has 11 showrooms, nationwide. If you're shopping in Dublin, head to their showroom at Birch Avenue in Stillorgan Industrial Park. It houses collections from world renowned design houses such as Duravit, Heritage, Geberit, Hansgrohe and Merlyn.

What's new?  Their new range of Italian porcelain tiles include indoor and outdoor versions with the same finish, which'll make the living area and the patio feel like one space – just in time for summer. As they are non porous they resist moss and algae growth and staining, meaning they are low maintenance and easy to clean. Heaven.

Tubs & Tiles says: "Trending, this season, are the ever popular wood effect tiles, which have the look of wood flooring with all the added benefits of glazed porcelain. They can be used on floors and walls of bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms."
