When do you put up your Christmas tree? Readers tell all!

It seems to get earlier and earlier each year, this whole Christmas malarkey, doesn't it? The shops are fit to bursting with Christmas products way before Halloween and we see trees glittering in houses in November more and more frequently. Time was though that no self-respecting fir tree found itself decorated before the 8th of December and was firmly banished to exterior darkness come January 6th.

We polled our readers recently to find out their 'tudes to the tree, and it's made for some interesting reading. Here's a selection of what they said:

Christmas fan said they put theirs up "the last or second last weekend of November and take down on January 6th. Way less stress putting it up early." Well, we guess with a name like Christmas fan they're probably only dying to get the tinsel out of the attic! For ever early riser we had a traditionalist: Passie affirmed that their tree went "up on the 8th down on the 6th ( give or take 24 hours or so)," but that "the sitting room always seems so bare afterwards!"

Adi1 definitely doesn't let his or her tree outstay its welcome. "I'll be putting it up on the 20th December so it's still fresh for Christmas providing the cats and children don't wreck it," and Andrea Doran told us that she likes "to put it up 16th of December and take it down 6th of Jan!"
