We’re seeing an increase in popularity for larger, comfy family and corner sofas, that fit everyone and the dog. There is a return to practical, but ornamental-style tableware like decanters and pitchers – pieces that would be at home on both your mantel piece or dining table. In the kitchen, copper and slate are still key this season."

Shutters Of Dublin

Run by Michael and Deborah O’Leary, Shutters Of Dublin is the Irish company supplying and fitting plantation shutters across Leinster. Their sister stores, Shutters Of Galway and Shutters Of Cork, mean their services are offered nationwide, too. They offer free, no-obligation home appointments with really quick turnarounds on quotes and orders.

What’s New?

Shutters are becoming more and more popular in Ireland, as Irish customers cotton on to their privacy and noise reduction qualities. Shutters of Dublin says:

"We want to give our customers variety and ensure that their shutters are in tune with their individual style. We offer 117 wonderful painted and stained colour finishes and also offer custom shutter colours. We are seeing a rise in the number of customers who are matching their shutter colours to their furnishings and colour scheme."

Neptune by Global Village

Global Village, started by Martin and Colette Lenehan, first opened its doors in 1989.  Since 2008, Global Village have been collaborating with Neptune, and such success has resulted in Global Village devoting the entire of its 6,000 square foot showroom in Kimmage and it's stunning showroom in Powerscourt Estate, to Neptune products. Rebranded as Neptune by Global Village, the showrooms now showcase the biggest range of Neptune products in Ireland. Neptune by Global Village is a centre of excellence for design, with a friendly team of experts offering specialist advice on everything from the flooring, right up to the ceiling.

What's new?

Their gorgeous screen-printed textiles turn to two classic, but characterful patterns; a not-so-nautical stripe and a gentle ikat print. Also, Neptune's very first kitchen style has been given a makeover in Shell. The look is clean, crisp and reminiscent of chalky coastal cliffs.

Global Village says:

"Neptune’s look for S/S '16 has a coastal theme and it connects the outside with interiors, along with the addition of rustic charm. The inspiration came from the south-west coast, where the coves are craggy, the lanes cobbled and the cottages whitewashed. Taking a lead from nature, Neptune’s S/S collection features over 100 new designs."
