Five minutes with... Pippa O'Connor

By Aoife Valentine Secor 25-04-2018

From launching new collections and hosting live events to decorating her new home, 2018 just might be Pippa O’Connor Ormond’s busiest year yet. Here, she reveals where she loves to shop, eat and hang out whenever she gets to take a break...

THE STORE

Pippa barstool, from €790, Ventura.ie

We’re renovating, so I’m looking at interiors a lot now. We’ve purchased beautiful pieces from Ventura, like our kitchen stools. They’re quite unusual and, funnily enough, they’re called ‘Pippa’.

THE LAST PURCHASE

I bought a wine cooler and a cocktail shaker in Marks & Spencer. In truth, I’ll probably never use the cocktail shaker, but it still looks fab.

THE ONLINE STORE

Zara Home SS18

The quality of the pieces from Zara Home is as good as the price. I’ve bought bathroom accessories, storage, throws and towels there.

FOR GUESTS

I think Punchestown Racecourse is always a great place to bring friends. For family and friends, visiting from abroad, Johnnie Fox’s is always a hit. Down south, I love Killarney. It’s so beautiful and there are so many great places to stay, like The Europe Hotel.

THE SOCIAL SPOT

House Dublin

House on Leeson Street in Dublin is our go-to for a great night out. The music, the food and the atmosphere are always spot on.

THE RESTAURANTS

My husband Brian and I love Luna in Dublin. The food is excellent. When we’re with the kids, we go to Jamie’s Italian. The boys love the spaghetti Bolognese. They’re great with kids there.

ON THE LIST

Hexawood wood-effect porcelain tiles, Designemporium.ie

I’m obsessed with floors and tiles at the moment. I’m really excited about laying a chevron design in the hall. I’m also trying to decide on tiles for the bathroom. I’ll definitely be getting them from the Design Emporium in Dublin. They have a stunning collection.

THE HIDDEN GEM

9 Below (9below.ie) is the most gorgeous bar on St. Stephen’s Green. It opened very recently and it’s already popular. Their cocktails are the best.

Following her hugely successful POCO Jeans line, Pippa has now turned her hand to the home. Her new range of candles, as part of the Pippa Collection, are hand poured in Dublin and include scents Pink Peppercorn & Ruby, Mandarin & Mint, Warming Winter Pine and Sultry Privé. Buy them online for €42. Pippacollection.com
