The Art of Colour - Zara Home's Pre-Fall collection is all about colour and pattern

Deep colours? For Autumn? It might not be groundbreaking, but that doesn't mean we're not into it! Zara Home is one of the first retailers to roll out their Autumn 2018 products, and from the sneak peeks we're seeing, we're already loving it.

They're calling the collection 'The Art of Colour', and the whole range is inspired by "the purity of colours and their nuances and intensity. They want to conjure images of "lived-in rooms full of memories," generating "prints and shapes reminiscent of the impressionist trend," referencing the 19th-century art movement that originated in Paris.

The Spanish retailer is predicting a resurgence of soft jewel tones - purples, turquoise, ruby red and blue - for Autumn 2018, and we can see them slotting right in with some of this year's most popular hues.

Though these colours are usually considered rich, luxury hues, the Zara Home imagery for the collection shows them used in a bohemian, relaxed modern way, with a focus on the colours used in textiles and accessories. Brushstrokes and spots of colour feature regularly against the backdrop of basic furniture and neutral tones.

Though the colours (plural) are supposed to be the main focus of the collection, an obvious trend runs throughout the range. It's clearly a dominant hue for Zara, but we reckon those blue shades are going to stick around as potential the colours of Autumn/Winter 2018. We're not sad about it!
