With movies such as 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead and TV programmes like Dead Set, The Walking Dead and ... Scooby Doo (Zoinks!), it's clear that zombies are as popular as ever. If you’re frightened of what is lurking behind your sofa, then you make take inspiration from this zombie-proof dwelling.
Appropriately named ‘The Safe House’ and designed by KWK Promes, a Polish Architectural firm, this residence aimed to provide the tenants with a feeling of maximum security. And just by looking at the exterior of this structure, it must certainly do that.
The two story concrete cube is an innovative piece of architectural design, with moveable exterior walls. This allows the buiding to completely seal up at night, before the spooks come out. Another component of this house would be the unusual drawbridge entrance, where visitors of the human kind are to wait in a safety zone, before being let into the main house.
Though its appearance when closed isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, the cube house still manages to feature spacious interiors, a wrap around verandah and floor to ceiling glass windows.
Even though this house isn’t full of weapons, nets and hidden traps, it is most definitely zombie proof.
