Break the rules: Paint your child's handprint on the wall

By House and Home 31-01-2011

‘Get away from the wall with your dirty hands’, is a familiar childhood refrain. But why not break the rules? Encourage your children to get creative and literally put their own stamp to a special part of your home. A home office/den is ideal. The result will be a talking point and unique feature (as long as they know when to stop).

Instructions:

Pour a small amount water based emulsion paint of your choice over a large sponge and allow it to soak in. Small hands can then press into the sponge before being applied to the wall. You may want to try out the handprints on newspaper to soak up any excess before decorating the wall. To recreate the colours here try Crown SO.07.77 emulsion (blue) and Crown F8.15.80 (yellow ochre).
