Are you ready for the most epic upcycle?? Swipe over! I was actually half nervous painting this because it's such a beautiful piece, I got it from a friend who wanted to make space so I had nothing to lose! I used @johnstonesireland Midnight Sapphire which is actually a wall paint so I varnished it after with two coats of @ronseal.uk it took 4 coats of paint to get it good and dark. My main mistake being that, after sanding and priming, I should have done one if not two layers with a paint brush (I used a roller for every layer) and then the last coat with a roller but sure you live and learn, thanks @carlowpainthub for that tip! . This was hard, especially trying to keep a 13 month old out of the pot of paint and hoping none of the four would brush up against it while the paint dried, miraculously they never touched it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ . I didn't paint the inside of the drawers because it's a tight enough fit already and some of them are currently sticking so I've been told that Vaseline or a rub of a candle might do the trick! . What do you think? I absolutely adore it, I think it just takes makes it fit our home, I'd been after something similar for a long time and just like that it feel into my hands! Finally, a kitchen table to complete my kitchen makeover! Another triumph by Bob! With 4 new chairs - 2 charity shop finds, 2 bought and 2 I already had, materials and hairpin legs, it came to a grand total of €169.36 🙌. Right enough dawdling, between 2 kids back to school, 1 starting college and my daughter debs, I have lots to do and not enough time - story of my life! Have a lovely Sunday folks xx . . . . . . . . . . . . #myhouseandhome  #hyggehome #myhousethismonth #spotlightonmyhome #ourhomeobsession #shareyourfeed #cornerofmyhome  #hairpinlegtable #therealhouseplantsofinstagram #urbanjungleplant #plantsmakepeoplehappy #passitonplant #pilea #slowliving #theartofsimple #seekthesimplicity #simpleinterior #ofcosymoments #myhappyplace #stylishomevibes #irishinteriors  #happyplace  #myhome  #kitchentable #thisishome

When I want to give my room an little makeover I simply change the colour of the chimney breast and change up the duvet and cushions. I'm happy with the overall look of the room but coming into winter I might tone down the bright colour on the chimney breast with a more subtle shade. . . I'm off to the UK today for a quick visit to see my sister 💛 I'm not a fan of flying and I was less anxious flying to New York this year than I am flying to the UK today 🙁 Wish me luck 🥴😂 . . . . #myinterior #myhyggehome #interiors4alle #apartmenttherapy #anthropologiehome #interiorismo #interior_magasinet #interior_delux #mybedroom #bedroomdecor #bohemiandecor #bohemianinteriors #thejungalow #jungalowstyle #originmagazine #pocketofmyhome #cornerofmyhome #modernrustic #sodomino #decorideas #designsponge #interior4inspo #interiorwarrior #myhyggehome #gypsytribex #bohotribex #earthychildren #timeouthomes #nestandthrive #homeinspiration

I have been busy working on a project for the last little while. It's my 1970 Castleton Caravan. We bought this as a playhouse for our kids about 8 years ago, after we had sold our previous caravan. I know that most of you probably won't understand my love of caravans, (I blame Top Gear).... But I have always loved caravans. As a kid, we had a little caravan in our farmyard, and I would spend hours in there arranging and rearranging things.... Putting up the top bunk, taking it down, making the bed into a seat and table and back into a bed. I'd cook imaginary meals, and wash imaginary dirty dishes.... For hours.... or so it seemed! I was the youngest by 7 years, and spent a lot of time playing alone! Most of my best childhood memories involve caravans.... and dogs, and ponies..... But not all at once! I bought all of the paint for this project in @carlowpainthub and it is all @tikkurila_ireland paint. I love the finished colours. To top it all off, I just found out that my little project has been nominated for the #irishpaintawards in the @carlowpainthub in September! So exciting! #tikkurilla #vintagecaravan #mustard #mustardcaravan

Recap! Ditch the cling film, tin foil and plastic bags on a roll. Believe me, you can do it. I would have always have back up rolls of these items because how on earth is it possible to live without cling film. I haven’t bought any of these items in over a year, and I don’t miss them anymore, is there times i have to think outside the box... of course but i always have risen to the challenge! What can you use instead? •Silicon freezer bags from @yuggen_life • Beeswax wraps. • Old cereal liners. • Old resealable nut/cheese packets. • a plate popped over a bowl 😱. • a covered casserole dish instead of using tinfoil in the oven. • old butter/ice cream jars. • old jam jars. I challenge you to not replace your cling film/tin foil/plastic bags when they run out and you’ll surprise yourself how well you get on! Let me know below if you’ve already ditched them so we can share with others how easy it is to change 🌱 #saynotosingleuse #aswapadaymay #simplesustainableswaps #simplesustainablehome #zerowastehome #rethinking #timeforchange

As you may have noticed my favourite type of furniture is of the salvaged variety and what's not to love; 1. It's economical and gives you way more bang for your buck. 2. It enables you to create a look that is unique to your own home. 3. It's great fun, you never know what you're going to find and there in lies the buzz. 4. It's totally sustainable and reduces landfill. * An all round win win situation in my book 🙌🙌. * I hope I don't get a wrap on the knuckles from the lovely folk @houseandhomemagazine but it just made sense for me to combine these two photo prompts, for me they go hand in hand; DAY 16 - 'SUSTAINABLE DESIGN' DAY 17 - 'FURNITURE FAVE'. * A little pop of orange, for FAVOURITE COLOUR @mycolourfulinterior. * #myhouseandhome #myeclecticshack #howivintage #sustainabledecor #sustainableinteriors #eclecticallymade #eclecticallycool #myeclecticmix #finditstyleit #vintagehomedecor #vintageismything #cornerofmyhome #mycolourfulinterior #crashbangcolour #crazyplantlady #sustainableinteriordesign #greathomestaketime #artfullyhomes #dailydecordetail #styleitreal #retrohauls #vintageinteriors #myretrohome #myinteriorsquares #sorealhomes #mixerofstyles #midcenturystyle #howihome #fleamarketdecor #vintagehomecrush
