Epicurean Adventures Go for the food; stay for the décor

In our March/April issue, we reviewed three mini sojourns for all the senses

This was the one that really stayed with us long after the experience.

MARLFIELD HOUSE, CO WEXFORD

STAY This multi-award-winning boutique hotel has been a go-to for guests looking for a rural oasis for years, but it’s the recent addition of five pond suites that is piquing our attention.

Each is designed with a low carbon footprint, blending modern luxury with nature. Set among oak trees and ferns with views over the pond, each suite has a unique theme.

Among them is  The Fox, decorated in earthy tones, while The Peacock is clad in vibrant greens with a giant mural, in honour of the resident peacock, George. Think freestanding baths, picture windows, walk-in showers, and double sinks.

DINE Marlfield's reputation was built on its food, most of which is sourced locally from the gardens and surrounding areas.

Choose fine dining in the conservatory or a more laid-back vibe at The Duck restaurant, housed in a long, open-brick stone courtyard restored with French doors that open onto a sandstone terrace overlooking the kitchen garden, filled with vegetables, soft fruits, herbs, and blooming roses.

We featured more about this stay in this issue. Don't forget, you can still purchase all our digital issues via our App, long after they are gone from magazine shelves.
